(Game Design Work in Progress)
Alchemania is an exciting micro game that features memory, set collection, and push-your-luck mechanics, all presented through the use of a single deck of cards.
Take turns collecting elements and causing wacky reactions. Be the first to perform a Masterful Mixture, but try not to blow anything up while you’re at it!

How to Play
The Laboratory (Set-Up)
Shuffle the deck and set it near the play area, ensuring there is enough space for a discard pile next to the deck.
Form a 4x4 grid of face down cards in the center of the players by drawing from the top of the deck.
The first player to start is the one who has most recently mixed materials. Turns proceed in a clockwise direction.
Experimental Research
(Player’s Turn)
Flip Two Cards
A player starts their turn by selecting and flipping any two face down cards in the Laboratory.
Reveal a Match and Go Again
If a player reveals 2 matching Elements as a result of a flip, they have the choice to reveal two more cards or end their turn.
End of Turn
At the end of the turn, the player collects all matching Elements on the board.
Flip the remaining Elements face down.
Discard all Wacky Reactions.
Refill all vacant spaces on the board with cards from the deck.
Unexpected Results
(Cards)
Elementals
To create a masterful mixture, you must collect Elementals by revealing matching pairs. There are four primary Elementals: Fire, Air, Water, and Ore. You may even stumble upon more rare Elementals with special properties.
Experimental Elementals
These Elementals have special abilities when revealed. Mud can sabotage another player’s mixture and Bubbles act as any of the primary Elementals.
Wacky Reactions
You never quite know what’s going to happen. Wacky Reactions will affect the game in different ways. Sometimes helpful, sometimes chaotic, and sometimes explosive.
Explosive Reactions
If an Explosion is flipped, All face up cards on the board are discarded and your turn ends. Losing all the progress you might have made.
Making a Master Mixture
(How to Win)
Collect six to mix
At the start of a player's turn, if they have 6 or more Elemental cards in their collection, they have the option to attempt to complete a mixture instead of proceeding with their usual turn.
Shuffle all the cards in your collection, then randomly reveal four of them.
The Master Mixture!
If you reveal one of each primary element (Air, Water, Earth, Fire), you successfully win the game!
BUT
If you are not successful, you must discard one of the revealed cards and end your turn.
Wait for it!
